Does anyone know of any organizations that would donate portable room dividers to a church? I?
I teach my daughters religion class in the basement of our church. There are three other classes at the same time and we are all in the same large room. The noise level is just insane and the kids are always complaining they can't hear. As I've searched online the portable room dividers are pricy and just out of the church's budget. Any ideas?

Your best resource would be the people in your congregation. Are there carpenters who could build what you need? Maybe someone works for a business that may have extra room dividers or might be remodeling and getting rid of their room dividers.
Another option would be to ask about heavy curtains that could be slid aside when not needed.
Get the information out there and people will come up with a solution.

You can cut down on the noise level by putting carpeting on the walls to absorb the sounds. You might even find a way to use carpet samples for an art project that shows the various Christian symbols such as types of crosses / symbols of the apostles / books of the bible.
Check with your congregation to see if anyone has contacts with any large businesses in your area. Sometimes; there are spare room dividers or dividers that are discarded due to renovations at some businesses.
Check to see if your local school district, county government, town or city government, or any State agencies sell or donate unused equipment. I know that in my area things like filing cabinets, desks, chairs, bookcases and sometimes old dividers can be bought very inexpensively.
You could also try your local freecycle website; you can put out a request for the dividers and see if anyone has some to donate.
